Hi, I’m Janine — founder, designer, and the heart behind JSM Lingerie (short for Just Say Maybe).

I launched the brand in 2015 after noticing a gap in the South African market for locally made, high-quality lingerie with timeless design and enduring appeal.

Coming from a corporate marketing background, I knew very little about actually making lingerie — but I had a clear vision and a lot of determination. I still remember sitting in a coffee shop, telling myself, “If I can’t find someone to help today, I’ll take it as a sign to stop.” The next day, I met the person who helped me bring my very first designs to life.

Today, every JSM piece is designed by me and brought to life in collaboration with a Cape Town-based factory and a lingerie construction engineer. Each garment is carefully crafted using premium fabrics sourced locally — ensuring every detail reflects craftsmanship, comfort, and lasting beauty.

At JSM, I design with real women in mind — women like me, who want to feel confident, comfortable, and effortlessly beautiful in their own skin.

Like many women, I’ve had my own journey with self-image and confidence. This brand has been part of that transformation — a reminder that empowerment begins with how you feel about yourself. My hope is that when you wear JSM Lingerie, you feel that same quiet confidence and strength.
